Which format should I use?+
CODE128 for general-purpose alphanumeric barcodes, EAN-13 or UPC-A for retail products (these require an officially assigned number to be scannable at real checkouts), and CODE39 for simple industrial or inventory labels.
Why does it say my value is invalid?+
Each format has strict rules, EAN-13 and UPC-A require a specific digit count with a valid checksum, for example. Double-check the format's requirements shown next to the dropdown.
Can I use a generated EAN-13/UPC barcode to sell a real product?+
Only if the number itself was properly assigned to you by GS1 or a similar authority; generating the barcode image doesn't grant you rights to use that number commercially.
